    I recently purchased an LG Dual Layer Burner. I used DvDShrink and a Memorex DVD+R DL disk. When it came time to burn my compilation, the burner did not recognize the media. What am I missing?
    Thanks in advance.

    Does it matter that I am using Nero 6. Is it capable of burning dual layer? Nero automatically burns after I use DVD Shrink. If it isn't, than I wasted $20.

    Nero 6 had some problems with DL burning. I don't know if support ever cleared that up. I moved on to Nero 7 and haven't kept up with Nero 6 support and development. If you run into problems burning DL, check out the Nero section to see if Nero 6 may be the problem.

    ..thread teleported to Nero forum. Nero 6 is no good for handling thr layer break, don't know if Nero 7 is any better, ppl usually use programs such as imgburn.

    let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

    You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

    we may not be able to help with the layer break given as Nero 6 can't do it but we may be able to tweak your settings to at least get your media recognised etc

    Got it working using Nero 7. Using DVD Shrink, I saved the image as an iso file and burned with Nero 7.

    Thanks

    Did you have Shrink set to keep or delete the layer break data? To remove is the default.

    @mikeab

    Since you are using shrink, set it to 9GB disc and remove the layer break,and have it create an ISO image file to burn with Decrypter. Decrypter will burn the ISO and place the layer break. Get some Verbatim DL +R discs and make sure to booktype them to DVD-ROM.

    Get Decrypter from here if you don't have it(free):
