LG Electronics DVD Re-Writer GSA-4120B A115 firmware

    I have had problems with the above drive, it is not seeing any discs I have deleted it from the system, put it back into the system cleaned the optical pickup, but it still does not see the disks, you can see the DVD drive in My Computer but when I go into the command prompt for D: drive message states drive not ready. Any clues to fox or is it stuffed??

    I'm having the same problem with my LG GSA-4160. I wonder if the lens is burned out?

    Thanks for the info, I have been contacted by LG who say that they may possibly replace the drive.Did you get a replacement??.

    I got an OEM off Ebay. I'm screwed. I'm shopping for a replacement.
