LG GSA-4040B problems

    I recently upgraded my firmware for the GSA-4040B burner to A301. I was able to burn at 4 speed, no problem. But after around 2 hours of use i got an error while burning a DVD. Now my burner cannot recognise any DVD media. It still can read CDR though, can anyone help me with some idea's why

    I have the same problem. LG drive wont burn media only RAM discs.Also my Samsung DVD will not play DVD's since I installed burner drive. Anybody help?

    I have found out the problem is a fault in the burner. Took mine back to LG and they are going to replace it through my warranty. This same problem occurs with their normal household DVD players as well i have been told

    SJP_UK, I have the same problem you have. My recorded DVDs(Ritek, Verbatim) don't work correctly in samsung players, but work ok in others standalones. Did you resolve this problem?
    I can record DVD-R and DVD+R without a problem.
