    Help,
I'm having problem getting my LG to burn DVD at more than X2, I'm using x4 media and the very latest version of Nero. I bought my drive OEM so I didn't get any burning software (neoDVD, B's etc).
Will I need to get the software LG provides in the retail pack, or should nero cope ??
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi,

Is the burner set to master on the IDE chain and is DMA enabled for it?

What brand/type media are you using?

Have you updated the firmware for your burner to the latest version?

Nero's fine - no other software required.

    I've not updated the firmware.
I'm using inifinti x4 DVR-R's which I know work at x4 on other drives.

DMA switch on, and master (It's the only drive on IDE channel).

Nero drop down on speeds, is greyed out and is stuck at x2.

The drive shows as HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4082B within XP, and is not present in NERO 6 cdrom.cfg any ideas of what the settings shoud be ?
