    Hi,

I just got a LG GSA-4167B and for some reason it will not recognise disks at all. Initially I tried to burn one but it had a "incorrect block error" (i think that is what it was anyway).

I have not been able to load any DVDs, CDs etc.. into it. It simply won't recognise the disk that is loaded whatsoever.

I am desperate and need to know any suggestions. When I put the disk in, the light flashes a few times and then it does not spin at all....

It is a replacement of a pervious Pioneer DVD Burner. Do I need to re-install Windows?

    Thanks

I just went through this with an LG GSA4120B. I replaced it with the one you now have. I tried this first though:
Start, right click my computer, manage, device manager, dvd drives, right click drive, uninstall, reboot. You could also try a new driver, but that did'nt work for me. You could also try a restore. Or hold f8 when the computer boots, and start with last known good setting. You may need a new drive like I did. The one you bought might be a dud.

It may be a bad drive. Do you have the latest firmware for it?

    Try Ridick's suggestion.
