    Hello everyone,

I just received my LG LRH-539 DVD Recorder (250gb HDD)today, and only played with it for an hour or two, but I am amazed !

I'm very very happy about the purchase.

Seems to be filled with features, and plenty of room on that 250gb drive !

I'll let you guys know how things goes as I use it for a while !

    Hi there,

    are are ppvs ?

You can transfer from the Hard Drive to a media yes.

But my only 1 test, I could not play the .VOB files on my PC (PowerDVD) or load them in ConvertXtoDVD.

So I'm curious on why they didn't play, but I need to play with it a little more.

But still 100% happy with it...

How are the editting features ? Can you edit without moving the files off the unit ? What can you do with a PC attached ?

    Hi there,

Well here are features I did not try :)

I know in the Edit Menu, you can do these things:

    A) Slip video segments: So I guess make 2 videos from 1, maybe more.

    B) Join video segments: Take 2 or more, and make 1 big video segment.

    C) Remove sections of video: I guess, remove commercials etc...
*BUT* when you do this, in the manual, you will not be able to burn edited video on a DVD Media at High Speed.

If it's a 2 hour long video segment, it will need to PLAY it and record it as it plays, just like the old days on a VHS !

I rather burn at high speed, and just fast forward the commercials :)

And yes, seems you can do all this on the video segments on the Hard Disk, before you burn them to a DVD Media !
