Bit tech got a unit on hand and they haven't written a proper review yet just a basic overview and unboxing but a tidbit at the end caught my eye: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2008/08/26/first-look-lian-li-xb01-xbox-360-case/1 With the dashboard update that lets you download games onto the hard drive the 360 will be virtually totally silent without the DVD drive spinning. I can't even begin to say how happy I am an RRoD free silent 360 with games that load as fast as lightening. This is what the 360 should have been in the first place
probably will cost as much as a arcade pack. and transporting it is gonna be a pain. but at least there's plenty room for cooling.
It's 150 dollars but 60 pound in the UK which isn't too bad since the 360's are much more expensive here and apparently it's not as big as it looks and will fit under one arm. I think their all fair trade offs for what it provides though. I can finally use my 360 as a windows media extender the 360 is way too loud for it at the moment.
im not a big fan of the case, but oh well. so this thing is just like the 360? nothing diff, except the noise? and its cheaper?
it's just a replacement case. you still have to buy/own a 360, and disassemble it, practically throwing away the warranty.
It's just an alternative case for your 360. It's quite big compared to the 360 case but it can cool your 360 much better with a much bigger fan that is a lot quieter and can increase and decrease in speed depending on the temperature. Still not sure how good it is at cooling the 360 haven't got that information on hand at the moment but without the DVD drive spinning the thing is practically silent. If it can run silent and cool the 360 well with a HDD to back up your games onto you'd be running a much better cooled and silent 360. Personally I can't even begin to stand the noise that comes out of this thing and I hate sending it away for a few weeks to get it repaired and if you have it modded then your practically throwing it away. At the moment my modded 360 has kicked the bucket again so I'm waiting on this case now.
