I just purchased a BenQ DVD burner with lightscribe capabilities. I am wondering if any one out there can help me find this program to download and then maybe some info on how to use it and what lightscribe is exactly? I am new at all of this but would like to learn if anyone is willing to be at teacher!! (hehehe) I hear that this is done with nero but not sure if that is true or not. Thank you all for your help.

Nero 7 at least will do Lightscribe. You may need the burner installed before you install Nero, but not sure. Anyway, if you have a capable burner installed and the LightScribe software, you should have an option in Nero to use it.

I don't have LightScribe, so I can't tell your exactly where the choices are. But you can probably download the .pdf help file and it will show you.

That software normally comes with the burner. Did you get an OEM version without any?

I don't have any experience with the software, but you might check the Ben Q site -- didn't someone just buy them, or check the site I found. It does have a free SE version for download, but I don't know if it will work for you.

As far as I know only Nero Premium but not Nero Ultra has LightScribe, but not LabelFlash capabilities. If you bought Nero Premium and you are missing this feature, ask the Nero support.

Thank you for the info bud. Can you tell me on nero where to find the lightscribe button? I have looked all around nero and can not find anything that said that. I have 6.6.0.16 version. Will this version work for me? Have you used this before, does lightscribe really work for the amount of time and the costs for the LS disc you have to buy? Thank you again for your help.

Yes, your version supports it, if your drive supports this feature, too. And you'll need to install the Lightscribe API.

    Just found this:
    www.nero.com/nero7/enu/System_Requirement_Updates.html

This feature might be useful for someone who wants waterproof labeling. But it takes too much time and is only black and white, so I prefer to print on inkjet printable media with my inkjet printer in color.

If you use Nero Cover Designer, and have a Lightscribe drive, it will have the lightscribe stuff in it. I have a blog on some of the lightscribe stuff. It isnt finished yet, but it gives you an idea of what the program is.
