Hi all, just wondering if anyone out there is experiencing issues with any lightscribe drives that they might have. Mainly wondering so I know I might expect with my own device of any known problems with the thing. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks

thanks, just wasn't quite sure what to put it in, Lightscribe is for both CD/DVD and internal and external makes.

What brand name and model# on your LS drive?

I've got the HP640c,which came installed on my pc when I bought it. My covers didn't look so hot. I'd run them through the scribe process twice. That issue was solved when I downloaded an enhancement utility called LightScribe ELCU.

The backups off this drive are very poor. Too many crc errors and low stand alone compatability rate. Lightscribe feature ok,so I burn all my backups with my benqs, and use the HP 640c strictly for playback and scribing.

So I have a slim drive on my HP laptop. Don't have it with me at the moment but I reads great and writes great. I use it for archiving permanent stuff to CD's and DVD's and haven't had a problem with it. I also have an external LaCie Drive (sorry not by my own comp again). It does a good job too. These are the two drives that I have and they work great. The Contrast Utility from Lightscribe.com did wonders too.
