lightscribe

I have a hp a1737c pavillion desktop with windows xp and have a drive that is lightscribe.It originally had windows vista and I dumped it because I felt like big brother was always looking over my shoulder with all their suggestions and double checking everything. Anyway...I have downloaded everything I'm told for updating purposes to use lightscribe. I can not download hp's up date because a message pops up saying "can not continue your system does not have minumum requirements" I feel the problem is not with lightscribe sofware or nero. When I use those software I get a message"can not continue internal error" I feel the problem is with my H drive but only to use lightscribe everything else works,making DVD's, CD's and whatever.Sooooowhat do I need? My drive is a HL_DT_ST_DVDRRW_GSA_H30L_SCSI_CDROM DRIVE
