There is a female AT (old fashioned keyboard connector) style DIN socket on the piano keyboard that I need to connect to the 3.5mm jack on my sound card - basically can it be done and does anyone know where I can get a lead/connector in the uk Please help - have been searching for ages with no luck
If you want to plug it into the 3.5mm jack on your soundcard, which is an analog input, why not just get an adapter cord with a standard musical instrument plug on one end (Here in the US, we call it a 1/4 inch patch cord) and a 3.5mm plug in the other end. To take advantage of your keyboards MIDI features, you will have to input into your computer via a MIDI/joystick port or use something other than the 3.5mm jack on your sound card.
I heard about the midi port connection yesterday - so you've confirmed that - thanks Any ideas where I could get either. So far I've only found one source in the US and thats about $30 + $60 shipping !!!! I did a search in yahoo on "midi to joystick" suggestions would be great
There are MIDI cables that connect to a USB port instead of the older joystick port. I've never used one of those so I don't know if the software you're using on your computer needs to support USB instead of joystick input for that to work. For an overview of using a MIDI divice on your computer look at: http://emusician.com/ar/emusic_midi/index.htm Hope that helps._X_X_X_X_X_[small]SemiCrazy[/small]
