I have set up my starview box and after lots of messing about finally have all channels - I had to keep my N*L box (is that how it is typed here ?) as without out it i only had one channel .... but use it only to get BBC1, BBC2 ITV, C4 & C5. I split cable at wall and put one thro N*L box and one into starview box. N*L cable out goes to AUX in Starview. TV out goes to video - video goes to TV. BUT i can only get picture - no sound for SKY etc unless I use scart and watch thro' AV1 / AV2 but I can't tape anything like SKY as my video cannot record from AV channel.

If anyone has managed to stick to the end of this note and understands it then firstly you need to get out more and secondly can you help ????????

I take it that the RF out of the aerial doesnt output sky channels , where as the Scart does?

Reason why iam asking is that i have a very similar problem with mine.

I tried to hook up my box to a aerial switch box, using the RF out aerial (so i can watch sky channels in other rooms of me house, but just couldnt get it to work. have posted a few questions to the supplier but will wait for a few days for a reply and let you know.

I think these boxs and the nokia dbox2 have two separate tuners.
One Digital tuner for sky channels and the other analgue tuner for RF output, as they are not integrated (like the old NTL PACE box's) then its impossible unless someone can correct me on this.

If you want to record channels off sky thorugh your video then just hook up the scart from the starview to the video input scart and then output the other scart to the TV, but i suppose you have already done this and it doesnt work.

I have only 1 out from box going to the video (if you exclude the scart) and two ins (cable in and aux). So the feed seems to be carrying both digital and analaogue, although as mentioned earlier I did have to feed in via an old N*L box that was no longer picking up additional channels. I did manage to get sky channels in other rooms by splitting the signal as it goes into television with a three way splitter and a separate aeriarunning to television in kitchen. My main problem is getting the video to tune into the starview box signal (all I get is picture no sound) which is why I use a scart lead also. I know I can change to frequency setting of the video at the back - dunno if that is in any way linked to issue but have exhausted every other option I can think of

Sorry badmanvan missed last part of your response - as my video is older than time itself it has only 1 scart socket. If you get any info from supplier I would be grateful of any you pass on.....

If anyone else can help to establish what is stopping my video locking onto a signal from Dbox I would greatly appreciate it. The one thing that is confusing the issue for me is that the scart that I have from video to TV gives a clear picture & sound (obviously) but as I have no scart between Dbox and video the aerial is carrying signal to the video which is why the scart can take picture to TV. This makes me think that the problem could be about the TV getting hold of the signal from video through RF aerial ???????
