linksys e3000

    i have a linksys e3000 wireless n router its dual radio 2.4 and 5 ghz i did everything by the book to set it up to run the 2.4 on one ssid and the 5ghz to run on another ssid password protected both but for some reason my laptop which is wireless n capable does not find the 5ghz ssid i have a hp g62-227cl notebook running windows home 64bit can someone please help me

    The first think id do is update drives by the oem. Just to check if there in need of being updated. After you have confirmed they are updated connect the pc to the router by its IP address. Or go to my network in windows vista,7. Enter the necessary information to log in and first only put up the 5 ghz band and try to cennect to it. Ounce the test is run and is successful enable the other band with different settings.

    Hope i was of assistance to your problem, oh be sure the laptop is very close the e3000 router when connecting to the 5ghz band as i also own one.

    If I remember correctly Linksys routers sometimes have issues with device being used for the first time even when they have the correct password. I think there is a way to tell the router to accept new devices by pressing a button on the router or using the software that came with the router.

    It's called the Wi-Fi Protected Setup Button. It looks like two arrows that make a circle.
