I have a version of knoppix I wanted to use for a simple task (deleting a file on an NTFS partition) It can read the partition, but cant write or delete. I did find a ntfs boot disk, but that only copied from one ntfs partition to another. I cant delete anything! Any suggestions?
NTFS r/w support is supposed to be added in Knoppix 3.4, but I don't know when the release is expected. As an alternate, Linux Defender Live was released last month. It is supposed to have NTFS write support but I haven't tried it myself. http://www.bitdefender.com/bd/site/presscenter.php?menu_id=25&n_id=58
Got the ISO, burned it, booted it, installed the ntfs driver, and it didnt seem to work... When installing the drivers it told me to, it couldnt find the file "ext2fsd.sys" and could read the NTFS partiton, but not write to it. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Asus P4P800 Intel Pentium 4 2.4C (OC'ed to 3GHZ [250FSB]) 512 GB (2x256) Corsair XMS DDR PC3200 (DDR 400) (Dual Channel config of course...)
