your problem is most likely that you did not set the framerate to the same as the source, this means that at the movies beginning there is syn in the audio and video, but throughout the movie it gets worse and worse, theree is no sync

are you backing up the movie from a dvd disk? or are the files downloaded? if you are doing a disk to disk use shrink and any dvd or dvd region + css free or ripit4me. i understand that it is an avi file, so you downloaded the file, so the file was out of sync when you downloaded so i don"t think it can be fixed, on the other hand if it was from a store bought disk i would say take the disk back and get your money back.you might want to try using vso dvixtodvd to do your converting

the problem is how do u know if u need to change the frame rate? is there some sort of a program? or do i have to waste a dvd with the time consumed so i can know that i need to change the frame rate lol

I'm running into the same issue, it must not be tremendously off because using windows media player it's almost right on. Nero 7 can't play them the soundtrack is waayyy off, it's strange because under window 32 I had dvd studio 6 and it seems to have made a perfect copy, I.e. I don't notice any out of sync audio issues, but under windows xp 64 professional I do notice out of sync audio issues. I noticed that nero 7 thought one of the video files was pal, I bet whomever ripped it did what you said and had something set wrong. This thread has been enlightening, thank you.

Can anyone post a url to a utility to fix frame rate that works under win 64bit? Haven't been able to find one yet that does that isn't expensive. Thanks.

unfortunately not too much software is actually 64bit compatible cause pretty much the only 2 systems i can think of that predominantly use it is linux and vista.

neither of which are very common (64bit editions anyway)

however i may be blowing all this out my ...
    cause i might be wrong

so to keep it short, i dont know any :(
