Hi folks, got a challenge for you.

Does anyone here know how I can alter my XP desktop to show items in a list instead of stupid icons that truncate folder and file names? If possible, I dont want to use a skin program as I want to do this with my desktop at work.

    Thnx

I don't think that can be done without skinning it with Window Blinds or similar.

If you just want to get rid of the truncated names there are other ways to do that. That is caused by more text than will fit in what the icon spacing is set to. You can change the icon spacing by going to control panel/display/appearance tab/advanced and change the vertical spacing. By default icons are 32x32 with the spacing at 43x43. If you need to fit more text make that bigger.

Another option is to use a smaller font for your desktop icons.
