Hi im new to this burning, i just brought a Lite-on 48x84x24 burner and uit had Nero 5.5 in the box with it.. its all installed and worked once.. I burnt a data disc and it worked fine a 48x BUT i cant do audio.. It will start burnin and then just say burn failed at 48x.. doe this mean i should slow the burner down or what the disc are 48x CDR's..
I've got a LiteON 52/24/52. It might be the media you're using that is somehow of questionable quality? The SmartBURN feature should have detected the media and adjusted the writing speed accordingly. Plus SmartBURN should also have been activated to prevent buffer underruns. It would also depend on how you are burning the audio CD. Are you using another slower optical drive to perform "On the Fly" copying or did you copy the audio CD contents to the harddrive first before burning? [the preferred method]
I can burn audio at 24x fine, i have burnt a data cd at 48x and i just tried to make a copy of it at 48x and it got to like 49% and then had a Write Error.. With my music i just download it from Kazaa then put it on the a disc..
I've got the same writer and i'm having problems with burning audio to it also. I think it is down to the CDR disks, i'm using 'Superior' disks, which burn fine at about 12x - 16x, but won't burn at 48x !! I'm yet to try different media, but that is all i can think of that could be wrong !!
I have a Liteon 40/12/48 and use it with CD-r's from the local computer fair. The discs are 48x and cost £15 per 100, I burn everything to these and have had no problems. They are "Infiniti" and have a web site @ www.mediainternational.com, which I have not visited. Hope this may be of help.
Remember that if you are burning audio from mp3's your computer is encoding to wav format , data is just copied/burned.
