Lite-ON 83850C DVDkey dump details. IX 1.6 for 83850C Lite-ON Released!

Buy a 360 that is before May 2009. But I don't know if you are going to find that old of stock.

 

So this team has found a way to extract the dvd key from a liteon without the need of any 3rd party hardware like a spear?

 

Yeah, that's what it seems like.... if this is legit. As far as I know, this hasn't been done before.

Hopefully their new method can be applied to previous models of Lite-Ons as well, and we can forget about probes for drive keys altogether. Wouldn't that be a wonderful world...

 

Reading from XS thread, it won't be too long before the service shall be free and we should be able to do it ourselves.

 

Why? I have flashed a million lite-on's. They are cake.

I haven't read about any ETAs yet. Although I don't think this service that foundmy.com is offering will be lasting much longer. Having my DVD drive's Serial/Key info plus my credit card linked together in their database... not safe.

 

Maybe so, but wouldn't you rather not have to use, buy, or build a probe if you don't have to? Why would you want to be forced to use more equipment than you have to?

Does this mean Liteon DVD Key's can be obtained without Probe/Spear?
or the new type of Liteon Key can be extracted with Probe/Spear?

Or both?

 

The 74850C requires the probe.
The 83850C does not require probe. But as of right now, you must pay 42$ to found my to find out your key after you dump some info and send it to them.

 

Give it a week before someone finds out how to do it, either by hacking into their system or just finding out on their own. Hopefully that person will be willing to give it out for free.

 

Just got two boxes back. Got one with a BenQ and one with a Lite-on (older kind). Flashed both with no issues. Keeping my fingers crossed until their is a fix for this one.

 

I have a mint RROD console here, has a Hitachi 79 in it warranty untouched MSFT already sent shipping label will be sending it out tomorrow and expecting a new LiteOn when it returns.

Will give any info when it is taken apart and hooked up to PC but hopefully they release the fix by then.

 

I just got 2 back within the last week and both had older Lite Ons that can be flashed with the probe. Both were March 2009 manu dates on them.

 

IX 1.6 for 83850C Lite-ON was just released. I'm hoping there will be a solution to key dumping besides foundmy.com

My guess is you're never see it. No reason since 1.51 will play all the games anyway. Plus those drives are junk! LOL
