Lite-ON 83850C DVDkey dump details. IX 1.6 for 83850C Lite-ON Released!

Thanks for the heads up Codymodd. Glad you got your 83850C working. I get a 360 console back from MS tomorrow. I am hoping I get the 83850C but I have a feeling it may be a 74850C. If I do get a 83850C, I am going to create a JF walkthrough like my other ones. I'm hoping somebody can revise LO83 so it won't encrypt the DVDkey and the program will just dump the DVDkey.

 

I just got my XBOX 360 back and its got the 83850C

I dumped with JF first and I didn't get the Mackay string so I ran FreeKey and got the bad key.

Re-dumped with LO83 CMD and got the Mackay string. Ran FreeKey and got a legit Key. Spoofed it to a BenQ and worked great.

Codymodd, what does your serial tab look like in JF? Wondering if I have all the correct serial data.

That's weird i got the bad key when i used LO83 and the good key when i used JF 1.65. The first time i tried to write the 83850C i did it the same way i did the benq but it didn't work. So since the benq drive worked i dumped the firmware and spoofed it to the 83850C and success.

 

I used this guide. Might want to remind people you still need to send the lite-on an erase to get it in vendor mode.

Hello to all,

I got problem flashing the lite-on 83850c drivce. Here is my problem, please help!

I can get the key using openkey.exe, but I stuck at manual spoof. I try a spare drive as advised, spoofing a 74850c as 83850c, it failed by saying cross spoofing not supported, then i spoof 74850c as 74850c, it is ok, but the dvd rom doesn't work when installed in xbox console.

The pic below is a 83850c spoof as 83850c, error message pop-up.

 

My friend just got his xbox back from ms and he wants me to re-flash, I opened it up and realised it is a 83850c, can anyone confirm the freekey method works?

 

I have no luck with freekey. Openkey worked better and even tells you if the key is good. Did you see the link I posted?

I would do multiple dumps and use both programs to check to make sure your key matches. If you got an extra drive to spoof to that is VERY wise.

 

Yeah, i don't want to screw up my friends xbox, maybe it's best to wait until ixtreme is released for 83850c.

Correct, it will decrypt the key from the LO83 dump. No need to use probe. Flashing procedure is the same. I used Xtractor reader 2.9 to give me the inquiry and identify + serial data. It said bad key which is normal since it can't decrypt the key. Then used Freekey/Openkey to decrypt the key and hex edited it into the dummy bin. From there I spoofed it to a BenQ and it worked. Since it worked I flashed the Lite-ON. Same flashing procedure at the 74850C.

 

Will be flashing my buddies 83850c tomorrow. Will let you know how it goes.

I just flashed his 74850c 1 month ago and last night we had a crazy thunderstorm... He was playing it and the power went. When he tried to turn it back on it was fried. LOL. Don't know if he had any red lights or anything.

Oh quick question. Am I able to spoof his older liteon 74850c as his new 83850c? Just to verify I got the proper keys off of it.

Just to verify, you should be OK. But definitely will want to go ahead and flash the 83850C if the key is good.

 

Okay I successfully modded a 83850c and didn't spoof it before.(Didn't have the extra drive on me)

So I basically followed Codymodd posts which said:

BUT I didn't have a ck3 connectivity kit on me so I had to do these steps

Power on your 360.
Start JungleFlasher 1.65
Eject the drive(With the eject button)
Disconnect the power cable from the drive and push it in halfway
Re-insert the power cable to the drive

Then I just followed his steps when it talks about pushing in the drive with your hand.

Oh and if anyone cares "MIKE LOVES HELEN" off my liteon.

Make sure you dvd key isn't "140F0F1011B5223D79587717FFD9EC3A" (try again)

Since I didn't spoof my drive I clicked on the FirmwareTool 32 tab in JF.

Select Open Target Firmware and load the new IX for the new LiteOns.
After that click on Manual Spoofing.
Enter in your Drive Key that you got off of freekey or openkey.
Enter in your Lite-On Barcode or load the Inquiry.bin that jungle flasher created a few min ago.
In the spoofing part leave the option at "Leave as is - Key Only" since you are not spoofing another drive.

Make sure you have the right Drive Key and LiteOn Barcode(Inquiry.bin) before proceeding.

Now just follow the guide by leerage for flashing a stock LiteON.

Start reading from the line
"Go back over to the MTKFlash tab and you are going to click Lite-ON erase.
Jungle Flasher will prompt you 2 times. 1st prompt is about the DVDkey and the 2nd prompt is about returning good flash chip properties.
Pictured is the 2nd and last prompt. Click Yes. "

Follow the rest of the guide and enjoy your newly flashed liteon.

Oh and when it asked me to power cycle the drive I did it by disconnect the power cable from the drive and putting it back in again.

i don't know if this was posted somewhere on this thread. but i just bought a new xbox arcade and it came with a dg-16d2s-09c drive. a lot of sources says this drive is not hackable. but it is. and i didn't even have to use my ck3 probe.

i used vista+nforce4 chipset+ck3 connectivity (without the probe)

when you get the to the part where jungleflasher wants the tray fully open, just pull it out the rest of the way. after you get the key, don't do anything with the drive. just leave it as it is. (dunno if everyone knew that, but the guides weren't specific as to what the state the drive should be in after you get the key)
