Please help somehow I removed roxy or nero software. Now my dvd/cd burner will not work. I removed hardware fom pc and I reinstall Windows recoganized it but when I clicked on the drive it does nothing.
Deleting software shouldn't render the drive useless. Did you physically uninstall the drive or did you use Device Manager to uninstall? Did you have a disk in the drive when you clicked on it? Was the name of the disk in the drive shown on the My Computer window?
I physicaly removed an reinstalled and the drive, read d: and there was no software in the drive during installation.
When you put a cd in the drive and go to MY Computer is the name of the cd shown? Same with a dvd? To play a DVD requires some software, Windows Media Player at the minimum. Is that on your computer? Does Device Manager report the drive as working OK? Did you allow Device Manager to update the drivers?
