    Hi
I recently installed a new motherboard and then reformatted my harddrive and installed WIN XP PRO SERVICE PACK 2--the XP cd was in the LITE-ON SHW 160p6s--so it works like before.

After getting XP back up, I did a test Audio Cd using NERO 7 in the same Lite-On drive and it burned successfully. But when I tried to play the Audio CD back (mind you I have done this a billion times in the past)in that Lite-On drive Windows Media Player wouldn't play it. I installed Winamp and it wouldn't play it either. Said drive might be bad.
I have a second DVD drive on my tower. an older Lite-On that I RARELY use, and put the AUDIO CD in it. and WMP played it fine.

I have the ribbons attached to my internal devices EXACTLY as I had before the new motherboard.
Any thoughts on what i haven't done properly?
    Thanks

check the device manager/properties for the device.
Somewhere in there is a check box to enable digital audio.
