yea, updating the 7 series will be the same. soldering will only be required for the 8xxx series 2, and 9xxx series.
Got it, reason I asked is because I just tried to update my 74850 to the 1.61 and as I hit Get Dummy.Bin it didn't recognize the dvd-drive...and I just now saw that my damn SATA connector came unplugged, I was about to scream - I thought it had done the good ole yeller on me >_>;
When I'm going to LiteOn-Erase to update to 1.61 I get for my 2nd message instead of to power cycle the following: "Target f/w in does not appear to match the attached drive! This is based on a comparison of the drive barcode. Please make sure you have done DVDKey32." Yes I've done DVDKey32. I'm not trying to spoof a drive or anything as I just googled and saw that someone was trying to replace his lite-on...but I'm not? I was not however the person to 1st flash the drive. I have followed the guide step-by-step to the power cycle portion and this is what I get. Is this normal, and should I continue or what the hell?
Hi guys, It was my understanding that 1.6.1 for Samsung and Benq was leaked in the beta phase meaning it could still have bugs and did NOT have all the safety features of a final release which made it really easy to do something stupid and get yourself banned. Is this the same case here? Unless you're already banned, would it be wiser to wait for LT? Since you can get flagged now and potentially not get banned for months, couldn't you conceivably get flagged on Live now, upgrade to LT when it's finally released and still get banned in the next ban wave? I'm still kind of new to a lot of this and just don't want to take any chances on seeing anyone who does this get banned. Thanks all!
I was wondering the same as the guy above me... Is this new flash going to keep you from getting banned? I have a unmodded xbox that I was holding out for till a safe solution appeared to flash it. Is this update a safe option for live? If so then whats the point of LT? And if it isn't safe on live then whats the point of it?
dud you need to read he said the point is to get rid of the use of the activae disc. it is not live safe
None of these firmwares are safe online, so IMO you're better off using the non-stealth firmware that Leerage posted. When wave 6 games appear, you'll be back to using the activate.iso disc with this, but the non-stealth will boot anything.
I didn't spoof, and didn't know I had to as that wasn't in the guide because it's supposed to auto-spoof but it never did so I manually spoofed, and flashed to 1.61, however after flashing to 1.61, it no longer reads my games - Batman arkham asylum, borderlands, dead space, brutal legend, none of them worked...is it because of improper stealth or what because I ran everything through abgx360 and all came out 100% when I burned them a few months ago? As of now I am back to 1.6 and able to play...or just provide me with some guidance as to where I can d/l the non-stealth version as I am already banned, and am only updating to 1.61 to be able to play newer Wave games...?
