My Lite-On has the GSB7 firmware and everything was OK, I always run Kprobe and can see that the error rate is very low if I use good discs, but I updated the firmware to GSB9 and now the errors have increased from an average of 20 to over 300. So I decided that to go back to GSB7 but I can't because the old updates will no longer recognise the drive, I have tried GSB6 and 7, can anyone please help
Hey.. Had the same prob.. Wanted to downgrade from 9 to 6... and it didnt go.. So.. i hexedited the gsb6.exe file to accept downgrade. I tried it on winme and it worked , only the pc did a hard reboot instandly after flashing.. (it scared the shit outta me) but after the restart gsb6 was in the the drive and working.. i only got a hold of gsb6 so if u done that u can update to 7 i think.. try http://cat.nl1cat.shacknet.nu/catgsb6.exe Good Luck!!
