I just bought a LH-18A1P (built Jan. 2007) but it seems strange that the labels are on the underside (contrary to the image shown on LiteOn's own website). So the labels are on the underside and this circular 1.5" plastic disk is on the top. Is this normal or did they assemble it wrong? I have not installed it into my computer yet but I did open the tray w/ the wire poker they provide and the tray is oriented correctly when the labels are on the underside. Any input is appreciated.
Maybe it was just a manufacturing error. I don't think that sticking the stickers on the wrong way up will effect the drive's perormance, though. Could you post some pics? xD Lol.
It must be normal. I just recieved my LH-20A1H and it's the same. Looks a little strange but burns well.
Yeah, I installed it and have burned a couple DVDs now and no problems, but just seems odd at first. Thanks guys. How do you like the 20? Those darn xxA1Ps (and Hs) just kick arse! My only gripe is they don't booktype.
I like my 20 very well. Seems a little picker about media used but burns well on what it likes. Verbs
There might be some patched firmware out the fixes that. Have a look here.... http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares.html
