Hi me again.Having problems with the lite-on it only burns in 1x. it is not in pio mode both of them are in dma. I have uninstalled ythe lite on and still nothing. It takes a hour to burn a disc. So frustaing. I am using verbatim DVD+R 16x disc. Also why can't my Pioneer DVR-109 burn the Verbatim disc? Someone please help. Going crazy. Thank-you in advance.
Update this for your LiteOn, http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/dvdrw/stock/165H6S.HS0E.stock.rar And this for your Pioneer, http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/product-e/ibs/device_e/file/DVR109_FW158EU.EXE They are firmware updates, letting your drive know what media it is and allowing it to burn faster etc. For the first one, you will need to extract it with WinRAR, found here. Make sure when you run them, there are no disks in your drives, and nothign else is running, eg, firewalls etc.
Hey Ripper Thanks for all your help before. Every time I try to install the firmware for the Pioneer it says target not available. What am I doing wrong?
I installed myself. My computer came as basic as it gets. I have been improving on my own. Planning to build my own, but that is a different forum. Thanks for any help.
This should be the correct firmware for your drive then.. http://www2.melcoinc.co.jp/pub/hd/dvmrdm16fb_fw858.exe Before you run that, use this tool (Nero Info Tool - found here) to check what version your firmware is. If it is 8.xx then that is the right one. If it is 1.xx, then you need to get back to me. I am presuming you need the 8.xx firmware, cos 1.xx firmware could not find the target drive, suggesting wrong firmware.
Well the firmware I have now is 1:17. So i am thinking the first site you send me to was correct. DVD Decrypter sends me to http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces=PIONEER+DVR-109 it says tyhe same thing "Available target not found".
Are you sure you don't have a disk in the drive or anything when trying to run it? Also, are you sure the drive is listed as working properly in Hardware Manager and that the IDE cables are in properly.
I retried again. Made sure no disc was in the drive. I even burned a movie to make sure it still works,(used a fuji) but still won't burn verbatim.
