hi all, i just bought this liteon 5007 recorder couple days ago, i want to use the hack firmware 1.5b from mr wixard to change the 3 hour speed recorder and mv, first of all do i need to download a latest firmware from liteon website or not? which mr wizard website had said? cause the firmware a1040 from liteon will change my 5007 to 5101, if i upgrade this firmware first i no longer use the hack firmware 1.5b right? cause mr wizard said it not work for model 5101 yet. so what i need to do to upgrade it without the latest firmware. i need your help to get this done. who ever had this model help me please.
    thanks

Press 'setup' and check your serial number

    XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX(X1X-XXXX)
We are only concerned with the position that has the '1' in it. If your S/N has a '1' in that position, Macrovision has been defeated

    Hi
I went to Sears last night and bought the LVW 5007 (a 90 mile drive for me). I called before I went and the salesman said the unit was the 5005, oh well. Anyway I downloaded the following software:
    LNKA1039.ES1
    LNKA1040.ES1
Then I used the Ilo/Liteon Firmware Hacker 1.5 software and saved the hacked file. I burned the data cd (2 cd's for 2 files) with nero but the dvd recorder only says data disk and will do nothing else as I went through the instruction list? Neither 1 will do anything? This liton 5007 have a Sept 2004 date, serial# is:602439012815.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm wanting to back up my old vhs tapes but I get recording error. Thanks for this website it is full of helpful information.

With that old a machine I'd try starting and pausing the VHS tape. Start the recorder in record mode. Let the recorder run for 10 seconds or so. Unpause the VHS (with the recorder still recording). This is how I defeat the MV with my older recorder.

If this doesn;t work, try one of the following forums:

Old machine? I guess Sears has had them held over for a long time. I will give your instructions a try, thanks so much. Would it be better if I took it back and tried to get something else? Around here we don't have a large selection. I bought the Ilo DVDR05, but it couldn't be hacked. They have the Liteon LVW 1101H but I don't think it can either. Then there is the Daewoo DVR5.
    Any help greatly appreciated

Of the machines you mentioned in your post, the 5007 is by far the best. Go to the forums in my last post .. someone there will be experienced in the 5007
