LiteOn 5045 - user experiences?

    I'm looking to buy a DVD recorder with hard disk - is this a good choice? What will I miss vs it's higher priced competitors?

    I mainly want to do timed recordings from tv, time shift programs, and be able to edit recorded programs to remove commercials.

    I have 2 LVW-5005 recorders and I really like them. I would assume that the LVW-5045 is an excellent value. Here are some reviews on the unit:
