I recorded a TV program on a DVD+RW disk then erased it with Nero then tried to record another progrom using the same Liteon DVD/VCR recoreder/player. The machine insists that the disk is now a data disk and won't record on it. Is there a way to overcome this problem so I can reuse the disk?

Try to erase it in the set top recorder.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, this machine does not seem to have an erase function. At least I can't find one. It's model LVC-9016G. It was a good price at Costco, but I guess it just proves the old adage re "You get what you pay for." I can put in an "erased" disk, have it identified as a "Data Disk", not be able to enter the menu, but enter the record function, and set it up for recording only to have it not record at the set time, presumably because I used a "Data Disk".

In re-reading the manual I note that there's a "Customer Call Center" which I hadn't seen the first two reads. It's not hidden, I just didn't slow down enough to read what it said. I'll give them a try tomorrow. Thanks again for responding to my post.

How'd I miss this? It's even in the table of contents. Well, it wasn't there yesterday. I can't even guess how many times I looked through the table of contents. Boy, this is embarrassing.

    Thanks again, Whompus.
