I have had a Liteon 5025 hdd recorder for nearly two years now with no probs. All of a sudden I cannot record to dvd from hdd as machine does not aparently recognise the blank discs I have tried. I have now tried three different makes of dvd disc including a make I have used dozens of times before. Machine will try to read disc and motor inside goes like hell before it opens the tray after about a minute. Any ideas??
Isn’t that LVW 5025ghc I think you will find that the DVD drive is going bad and will need replacement A 5025is much as the 5045 with smaller drive lliteon made a number of clones. The Ilo 04 series by Wal Mart was one. Any info on the ilo is relevant to the liteon. A drive that will work on all functions including Fast Forward is getting difficult to find All this is discussed at the sites below. Thanks for the info. Funny thing is that it will still play dvds including those I have recorded on that machine. I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy a replacement recorder. Cheers
ken18b It sounds as the unit wull play its own recordinge but has trouble with some disks and those recorded by other units and possibly commercial. A sign the drive may be failing I sent you a PM
