Liteon users: Anyone holding off the activation disk to wait for 1.61

    So I have a 74850 lite-on, and we all know there's no ixtreme supporting it yet. I also realize it may take weeks for the lite-on firmware to be released. I've been extremely paranoid about using the activation iso, but I did want to play with some of the new releases coming up this holiday season.

    That said, how many are you just won't use the activation disc to wait for the new firmware to be released? Is my paranoia unfounded, or has there been a link to using the activation disc and being banned (I hesitate to ask this at all since things could just devolve into incomprehensible chatter)?

    im waiting for it. I did not play wave 4 game. I will buy MW2 this tuesday if 1.61 is not release before tuesday.

    It's not going to make a difference one way or the other. The threads where people are posting how they got banned show no difference even if people didn't/did play wave 4 games or didn't use or did use activate.iso.

    I've used the activation disc so far to play Dragon Age and Episodes From Liberty City. My account has not been banned.

    yea im waiting to. i don't see the need yet so i don't mind waiting. Plenty of other games to play and buy COD on tues etherway.

    At this point im not taking any chances, Ill admit I pre ordered teh COD bundle elite, and Ill use that as my LIVE 360. Personally I only have had the forza ban (acount) and NEVER the console ban for certain things I particularly do to protect myself,
    My mind set, nothigns 100% protection, but if your going to F##K MS over, use some protection~ And the ones Im unsing have worked flawlessly so far.

    Implying you don't pirate games. Only sheep support Activision/Infinity Ward after the load of crap they have been spewing on the gaming community: 1) Charged DLC, Increasing game prices, taking out dedicated servers, taking out party chat, lowering # of players to 18 per game. Let's see what else there is to come from these 2 #%#%^ companies.

    Im not implying that at all. I have 2 games that I didnt pay for. I have 27 that I did pay for. I have a job and dont mind spending money on a quality game. Of the two games i have not paid for. (1) ill never play again b/c its garbage. (2) i will buy when I can find it cheap enough on craigslist.

    aint trying to be gr33dy.
    im waiting myself(i saw the MW II console package) wiked nice.
    Walmmart is having a sale..buy a xbox and get $100 ecard free.
    going to buy one, then return, and head to next store..4 times and i can get the console(hee hee)the sale is this saturday(usa)

    No dedicated Servers on pc = No buy full stop Infinity Ward can kiss my ass i will not be buying future Infinity Ward Titles or activision these people ain't gamers there buissness men in suits who know nothing of what MP pc gaming is about.
