    Hey All,
I'm doing a little informal survey on folding@home with the PS3 client.
Now why would I want to do this survey? Well I thought it would be a nice touch to the term paper I writing on it and protein folding :)

So who here runs the app on their PS3?

How often do you run it?

What do you think of it?

Me, I think it pretty cool. While it's not an original concept I still think Stanford partnering with Sony to use it on the PS3's cell b.e. processor is a big plus for the program. The numbers they been able to achieve probably could not have been done w/o the PS3.
It's also pretty cool to see the visual wu in progress - well at least for a minute or two :)
The biggest plus - benefiting the whole world by aiding research towards preventing diseases.

I run the Life with Playstation app on my PS3

Sadly I usually run it like when Im going down the street or to my friends house and need my controller to charge so i connect it and run that. I know its bad i apologize.

I think its pretty cool that they put that on there. It most certainly help with finding cures for diseases And they made it more appealing with having world news to go with it. Im not sure but I hope my input helps with your research

I used to do it, but I don't anymore since I've learned that if you don't complete a whole package which is 8 hours within 3 days all the time you've spent is useless since it won't be sent back. I think it works this way or in a similar way.

I don't use it because of the power consumption of the PS3, even more so when the system is maxed out processing.

However, I use BOINC on and contribute to other projects on the computer that is always on and streaming media in the house.

I use to run it all the time(sometimes for a few days strait) up until my ps3's warranty ran out, so now I'm babying it a bit more. I racked up around 140 something work units if I remember right.

Its a really good idea, and successful too. But now that my ps3's warranty is gone I'm a bit more weary of leaving it on for long periods of time, I'm sure a lot of other people are in the same situation/mindset as me with it after their warranty's wore out.

I run Life With Playstation occasionally. Such as when I run to town and need something to continue downloading. But once my warranty runs out, I might stop using it so much, just in case my PS3 deisides to overheat.. Then I'd be screwed..=(
