live cd on ibook

    hi i just got an ibook G4 and was wondering how to boot from the cd/dvd drive. do i have to change the bio settings and if so how?
    or can i configure this through tiger/software and/or darwin.

    have disc in drive..
    start up while holding "C" key

    really does the cd have to be in a certain format or something or
    do all live cds work?

    a bootable linux cd that loads into the ram and doesnt install on hdd
