    Hello

Please understand I am a complete novice at this so be gentle.

I bought my wife a Sansa MP3 player for Christmas. Nice little gadget.

She has a large collection of CD's and after googling around I ended up downloading and installing CDex. It easily added properties data from the net and ripped the songs to CD. I dragged these on to the MP3 device. Everything plays well, the indexing and cataloguing system works by album, artist etc. So far, so good.

We also have a large MP3 library of songs downloaded from P2P sites. My problem is getting these successfully on to the MP3 device. As you know, many downloaded songs have nonsense in the properties information. I tried loading 50 or so songs into a Folder, giving it an appropriate name, then dragging the folder on to the device. The songs went on OK but the whole cataloguing menu became a jumbled mess, so I deleted it.

This morning I tried using WMP10 - I read about creating a playlist and synching that to the device. When I hit "synchronise" I got an error message that MP can't handle the file type. So what I am trying to do is add these MP3's in an orderly manner whereby I can still use the menu function on the player.

I said it was basic, but I am stumped. All suggestions gratefully accepted.
