Recently upgraded from 6.6 to 7. In 6.6 I could find the version number currently in use and check for any available newer version by clicking NERO on the upper left of the first screen. Is this function also in Nero 7? I cannot find which version I have installed. When I installed Nero 7 from a retail disc, I expected to need to register it with Nero or be directed to the Nero site for the latest update. This did not happen. I recall loading Nero 6 required several large downloads. I see several messages in the forum referring to version 7.0.8.2. Can someone tell where to check for version numbers and available updates?
You can check what version of nero you're running by double clicking on the nero "smart start" icon then click on the "nero burning rom" application on the left, close the wizzard that starts up and click on the "help" menu above and choose "about nero burning rom", the version will be displayed here 7.0.X.X The current version of nero 7 is 7.0.8.2, you can get it here at nero's site. http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/nero7-up.php
I am trying to download version 7.0.8.2. I get this message: Fatal Error-installation corrupted-please reinstall Nero. So... Ran the general clean tool. Used add/delete programs in the control panel to remove Nero. Ran the general clean tool again. (Found three remaining Nero items???). Reinstalled 7.0.1.3. Tried to update, got the same error message. Any cure for this problem or just keep trying?
