Ok, have really messed up my xbox
I recently bought an old xbox, v1 i think, with what i think is an enigma mod installed. I was working ok, installed evox but i wanted to install a 120 gb hard drive. I got the slayer iso and installed the drive but it wouldn't boot, got an error code 06. So i re-installed my old drive and booted fine to original evox. I read about the error code and it said the drive was locked. Stupidly I unlocked my original hdd and now it won't boot, error code 5, drive is unlocked. So i went to my mates and locked the drive on his xbox thinking that would solve the problem (before i read any of these forums i might add, kicking myself to death now. So now the error code says it can't unlock the drive. I created a backup of the original hdd before i did anything and have the data on my pc. Trouble is I'm completely confused now,can anyone help me sort this out?
Also can a new hdd be added to my xbox with the enigma mod?

ok, tried pretty much everything now and nothing works
One idea left, my mates xbox can boot any hard drive due to his chip,
I can't cos i think its either softmodded or a really old enigma mod.
Can i install a new mod to the motherboard to allow any hd to be used? or do i have to remove whatever is already there?
    Any responses appreciated

    Thanks

Get a copy of "xbhdm" get the back up info you got. Hopefully the "C" and "E".. Take those drop THE FILES into the "C" and "E"; folder that came with the "xbhdm" also if you have the "eeprom it's even better, so drop your eep file into the "eeprom folder" supplied by "xbhdm" then get your back up info the "HDD Key" aka "HDD Disable Key" and print it out.. Now, click "Make-iso-win" I believe it is, or something along those lines, and burn the ISO it created to a disc.. Now, with your HDD key printed out, and your software in hands, turn off your comp.. Unhook all the drives to your comp, when I mean drives, I mean "HARD DRIVE" place your xbox drive on the MASTER cable, and boot your PC with the disc you made.. Now, at the load-up screen click "Lock and unlock" or something believe it's #3. Once you enter type in "unlockhd -p ########" where "####" type in the HDD key.(or if you have eep type "lockhd -a" or "unlockhd -a" which ever you need"

BTW if during the process your comp tells you the drive is frozen.. You have to either find a older computer, or hotswap. (I hotswap with my HP pent 4) once the computer starts like it says the name of it, mine is HP so the "HP" screen loads, then your program loads. Well after the first screen, hook the ATA cable up quickly to your xbox HD (Have the power cord already hooked up)

also, if you don't won't to do it, I do repairs. e-mail me at "lirrachus@gmail.com" to discuss it or if you need any other help.
