hi i need help deciding which speakers are better for watching movies on my computer. anyways i've seen good reviews for both of them and cannot decide which one to get. Also my sound card is a soundmax integrated digital audio. i own a dell demension 4700 and was wondering if i can still substitute my sound card or add a new one. if so which sound card should i add? i was told to add a soundblaster but not sure if my dell would take it.

    dell demension 4700
    512 mb
    radeon x300
    160 gb
    soundmax integrated audio

I prefer the LogiTech speakers. I got the LogiTech Z-5300e 5.1 set of speakers, and they sound awesome. They are THX certified, if that matters to you. They are a little pricey ($200 at Best Buy), but well worth it.

As long as your Dell has a PCI slot open, the Sound Blaster card should work just fine. I use the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum card. That card, along with the LogiTech speakers, turned my pc into a stand alone home theater.

Remember that you'll need a software dvd player, that supports Dolby Digital and DTS surround. I never did find any free ones either. I ended up using WinDVD, and am very happy with it.
    Good luck!

I also have the 5300e, it's pretty good, if you like a good bass, then this is the speakers for ya, bass is really strong but sometimes even too strong for me I had to control the subwoofer. Movie is good with a decent sound card which you can at least control subwoofer the way you like
