I have a problem when im gaming, my x-hair all of a sudden flicks upwards/downwards and sometimes to the side when im playing. Ive had it where the xhair repeatedly spins again upwards/downwards and it is so annoying when playing FPS games! Ive installed the latest drivers from the logitech site, gone into the options and in the motion tab my cursor speed is in the middle and the acceleration is on low with the disable acceleration in games checked. The report rate is set at 100 and that's basically it. Ive had the mouse on a wooden surface and have now recently bought an icemat but still i get this problem. Any ideas? cheers!
This is a common problem for optical mice. Do you notice it do this while not in a game? For example, you just start to move you mouse and it jumps to the corner of the screen. Two solutions: 1.Clean optical eye with Q-tip and alcohol. Clean pad also. 2.Your mouse pad could be the trouble. Try a different one, or I perfer [bold]not[/bold] to have one while playing games, but it also depends on the mouse. If you are only experiencing this during a game try lowering the X & Y axis sensitivity.
Hey thx 4 replying! Yea ive noticed it when ive been surfing the net, it will suddenly shoot off to the bottom lefthand side of the screen. I might invest in one of those laser mice to see if that helps.
You will recieve the same problem with both after extensive use. It just a fact of optical mice. Try cleaning it first, if that doen't help at all try the other solutions. For gaming, there isn't really a fix for it other than what I stated. If you are a gamer whom likes their sensitivity real high, lower it a bit, you will recieve better results. I used to play QIIIA alot and I had this problem very frequently, my fix was [bold]not[/bold] using a mouse pad. But, I like my sensitivity very, very low.
Normally i would have CS:S/DOD:Source sens at 2.0, BF2 at 70.0. When i got the mouse it didnt come with the drivers so i used the mouse like that, stock. I recently reformatted and still had that flicking, so i headed over to the logitech site for the drivers 4 my mouse. Everything was cool but i noticed my sens was either 2 fast on BF and that dod and cs were 2 slow, again i got that flicking. I decided to take the driver off, put my cs back to 2.0 but dod was only good at 4.0? BF was ok at the normal 70.0. Strange how cs and dod have different sens when i had them both at 2.0. Tried cleaning still the same....
Are you using a pad? If yes, try playing once without it. If that doen't help it's probably just a problem with the mouse itself, you'll then want to invest in a laser one as you spoke of before.
Optical & laser mice do not like differently coloured mouse mats. Get a plain black one of possible...
