does anybody know were i would need an amplifier that can output 75 to 120 wats with an input of 12-14 volts. Thanks
its mobile, im using it to power a 3way car subwoofer that im going to attach to my boke. i have 2, 12 volt battery packs, i would preffer to hook them up im parallel to get more amperage out of them but if it is necasary i can hook them up in series to get either 24 volts or +12, GND, -12. Thank again
well if you have a three way speaker system, then its not really a subwoofer. its a woofer, midrange, and tweeter system. if they are all in the same box, they should have their own internal crossover, so you just need one amp to power it. do you have one or two? you could just even use a mono single channel amp, but they are way overkill at 500+ watts for subwoofers. just get yourself the bottom of the line car stereo amplifier. good brands are sony, alpine, pioneer. you can get a decent 50 X 50 watt amp for well under $100. I would also recmmend ebay. You can find extremely cheap car stereo atuff on ebay, just make sure its NEW IN BOX before buying...
alright thanks, but i was looking for more of a diy kind of amp. i have many chips fron sound cards and radios but the max i found was about 8 watts. Do you know were i might find a amplifier chip like that but made to handel the 75-120 watt range? Thanks again, and again
You are referring to an Op-Amp. Here is a tutorial on op-amps: http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/gadgets/741/741.html Here is a list of op-amps for sale: http://www.maplin.co.uk/family_free_delivery/OP Amps.htm a Google search will yeild more results for you. Op amps are not really desireable in car audio. I suggest E-Bay search "Cadence Amplifiers". They are excellent quality and a few sellers sell them very cheap on e-bay.
