I've been beating my head trying to find a [bold]reliable[/bold] digital camera around the $300 price point. I know there's some out there, but the ones I've found so far have had one flaw that made me question buying it.

From what I understand, the ISO determines how crisp the image turns out. I absolutely need detail. I've used a friend's Canon Powershot 7.1 MP camera, and while the flash, MPs, size, and zoom are fine with me, I'll occasionally get semi fuzzy edges on my pictures. Using Adobe Photoshop/Imageready's sharpen tool just makes the photo look a bit worse (semi-pixelated on edges). I would like something higher than ISO400 for this reason. I'm also going to want a camera with image stabilizing technology.

Optical zoom is a must, and at the least, I'm looking for 3x. 3x is satisfying, but anything more is a nice extra. I won't complain if i get higher though.. that just makes it extra nice :). Same goes with boot time and shutter speed. I don't want the shutter speed to be slower than a doorbell ding. ;). Quick is good, but super fast is not neccisary.

I really don't know where to start looking for cameras, and the only good brands I know of are Canon, Fujifilm, and possibly Samsung, Olympus, and Casio. If anyone has a camera, or knows of a camera that fits my needs, let me know. I'll be doing some searching of my own, and in case anyone's interested, I can provide help with Xboxes (modded or stock). :)

I only showed you this cause my camera does everything and my nephew's small sony camera does almost as well as mine:

I'm sorry I don't have the exact model # but I do know it's a Sony with 7.1 MPs and zoom. the picture doesn't really do it justice hosting it on the web!

I bought the new Sony DSC-N1! It's an 8 Mega Pixel Cyber-shot camera that takes great movies, too! I bought it through Dell online! they had a sale for 350.00 and Sony was giving a 50.00 rebate. that makes a total of 100.00 off the camera! good lucking finding it for under 399.00 listing price..... hopefully there is some place that will.
