I want to buy a HD monitor that has 1 (preferably 2) HDMI ports. It also has DVI and VGA. I want full 1080-1200 resolution. I found one by Samsung(link), though it's highest resolution is only 1050. I'm planning on buying a mac mini and also using it as a HD display for my video games (PS3 and XBOX360). Is there going to be much difference between the resolution that I'll get on that monitor and 1080p? Edit: Would I be able to play 1080p movies on it, through the computer. Also, would my consoles play at 1080p and it would just be downscaled?
Have you considered a LCD TV? I think any TV that displays 1080p will have at least 2 HDMI ports. 1080p movies on computer would be Blu-ray or downloads, you would need a good media program for that. If the game is 1080p and your TV is 1080p it'll play at 1080p Most TV's will have several options eg. 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p. PS3 will automatically select the highest that the game can handle.
