I have this in mind... http://www.xoxide.com/casegears-black-steel-580w-psu.html http://www.xoxide.com/sunbeam-casegears-hush-580w.html http://www.directron.com/cg550.html I'm looking for something below $40(in a budget) but very powerful to run some overclocking if I wanted to. I looked on newegg, but wanted to see some help on this links that I have provided. **also looking for it to be not noisy**
Absolutely not, they're all terrible. This is a capable, quiet, well built unit, and despite the numbers, is far more powerful than the others. I wouldn't recommend anything less than this unit. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371005 Check back periodically, it's often half that price.
It's definitely possible, but you have to be patient and keep checking for a deal. Sometimes the vendors have unannounced 1 day sales or rebate offers that can save you a lot of money. One time I got a $99.00 power supply for $99.00 with a $99.00 rebate! It's still running after a year. <G> Some people do not consider rebates as "within the budget", but http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152028 <$40.00 after rebate. My last three PS were Raidmax and I have been very happy with them..
Say what you will, but please don't start spamming Raidmax units in other threads. They're still very bad units. You presumably have had no problems because you use a very low power draw.
Hey Sammi, I found this cheap OEM PS on newegg...for my budget...would it still fly? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371013 Thanks Sammi, I have a 24 Pin MoBo. I'm planing on getting a Wolfdale Core 2 Duo.
