Does anyone know of a utility that it totally free and works 100% to convert a wmv file to a avi file? I also just realized that the wmv is protected.. am I out of luck converting this to a avi file? Thanks

eric, You've got me at a little bit of a stump in trying to find a free converter to convert a protected wmv file! I'm using google search to try to find something, and you may do the same. The problem is that they do not tell you if it will convert a protected file or not! Kinda sucks!! http://www.topdrawerdownloads.com/download/104302 After doing a little more searching I've pretty much come up with the conclusion that trying different programs could cause a headache and the possibility of a reinstall of your OS! Maybe another member could recommend something for you!
