I own 2 Coolsat 4000 Pro. Just installed recently. What kind of t.v. card can I use in order to get satellite signals without paying a dish network company an arm or a leg? Yesterday, ALL the channels stated "Scramble channels." It means I could not see the Laker game or a movie. Can you help?
In the past, when I own a Pansat 2500, I could go to "dssevolution.com" an d get NEW code on Key 0 and Key 1. I reinstall them, Wa..la.. it worked again. then it completely died. Being uninformed, I changed to Coolsat for a fee. I was gouged! Now, every time, I get a Scramble Channel, I had to call the installer. He charges me $60. The damn thing will last 2 or 3 weeks. That is just too much to pay. I am better off subscribing with Comcast.
Can you help and guide me on this problem? I do not mind paying for the card. But how to install? And how long will it last? If it dies, what do I do?

as far as i know you should be able ot go to the forums at dssevolution.com and get the same info. fixes come out at different times for different receivers so you might just have to wait a day or two. alsoi try al7bar.tk for good info. yeah thats a ripoff if anyone is charging you to do anything with a FTA setup. all the info you need is out there for free.

Thank you for your respond. I have seen Key 0 and K 1 followed by a bunch of numbers. When I had my Pansat 2500 early this year, the guy who installed it taught me to go to dssevolution.com to find new keys. He also taught me HOW to change the code. Unfortunately, this guy is no where to be found today.
Someone referred me to this new guy who told me the Coolsat 4000 Pro is the best. Being stupid I ate up his pitch. I exchanged my Pansat 2500 to his Coolsat. But this guy NEVER showed me anything other than turning on my receiver. Showed me it worked and he left. He gave me his phone number to call. But I must dish out $60 every time I call him. I did that two weeks ago. Now the whole thing is "dead." I cannot afford to call him again. Hence, I am trying to make contack with anyone who has a Coolsat 4000 Pro. How can I get a hold of someone who can help with my problem?

If you go the the FTA forums like the one mentioned, all the information you need is there. The key numbers and how to change them should be listed for most models and makes. Its all done with the remote. There are now auto roll bins out also that once its installed the keys change automatically. No more manual entry. Find a good forum and join and then start with the beginners sections or posts. The keys have been changing at least once a month now so you don't want to pay to have it done. Best to learn the tricks yourself. Good luck.
