looking for movie interface software

    I have 150 movies (VOB format) in folders on my PC and its AWESOME!!! but I hate having to click on the folder then click the right file to run the movie. Sadly NO media software runs VOBs, or if they do setting up all the movies in the media software is a pain in the ass.


    I will probably end up writing one myself but I want to see if one exists already.

    Have you tried Power DVD - Open Movie - press play - simple.

    I want something that lists all my movies easily, something that I can edit info (titles, actors, year) and once I find the movie I sould be able to just click on it (hyperlink) and the movie will player (TS_INFO.IFO is the file that will run using media player).

    What you can do is First install a Proper DVD Playback software....

    Then you can Make Shortcuts on your Desktop to the "Video_TS" Folders for each Movie or you can Link them directly to the VOB file, then all you have to do is Click the Shortcut on your desktop for the Movie you want to watch and it will start Playing....

    Thanks that is what I have actually down but Im looking for something a little fancier.

    Something like the company www.kaleidescape.com has done with an all in one server/software solution. Of course they cost a fortune so its not for me.

    Im a software developer so Im going to try and create a interface for all my movies. I want to add movie search capabilities and maybe even be able to a movie image so my wife will know what the movie is (one of her complaints).
