i'm not a great lover of the dvd x range of software but based on the fact that one disc has worked and the other disc hasn't (and it is an error writing to disc you are getting) i'd hazzard a guess that it may well be the blank media you are using

    what media are you using?

I also started backing up movies with 321 software - DVD X Copy Platinum and had a fair amount of error messages and failed burns. However, after coming across DVDShrink (which is free) I haven`t looked back. That program is so much better in terms of functionality and options and I am yet to get an error message or a coster. I`ve removed DVD X Copy Platinum from my machine because it pales in comparision to DVDShrink...

Hi, I am trying to copy Lord of the Rings Platinum edition and I am getting an error using DVDShrink. When I choose to open the disk at the software, the drive starts reading the dvd, then I get the following error:
Could not open Bad Sector - The secto is Criptographic.
I will apreciate anybody that can help.

try downloading DVD Decrypter. use this in the file read mode. then use shrink on the files that this produces on your hd
