Apparently, everytime I download a DVD to convert and burn, it's being stored some where that I can't seem to locate...

I can find it in the DVD Fab folder and delete it, but it is storing it some where else also...What do I do? Any suggestions?

I'm having great success burning, but each time I lose about 3 Gig's.

    Thanks,

    PanamaJ

Check your download "share" folder for the files.

I checked the download shared files and nothing was there. Any other suggestions.

I can normally find the files but this one has stumped me.

    Maybe in a hidden folder?

Open up Mycomputer,Click on that harddrive where you think they may be.Then click:

Documents and settings/all users/Application data and look for folders like dvd shrink, etc.

If hardly anything there, then they may be in hidden folders and you can easily change it:

Now click Tools/Folder options/Folder options/View/hidden files & folders: Tick show hidden files/folders-apply and ok. Then documents-settings/all users/application data and see if more files appear.

Dvd shrink will hold those little initial analysis in a hidden folder.Small files, but can add up after time. Other programs may do the same thing?

It would help if you tell us what programs you are using to burn your files.

    Using Norton?

    Check Norton's recycle bin.

I hear tales that norton will hold your movie files without you knowing about it.

Where else can I go for help? Do you or anyone know? Is there other places within the forum that would be good or even another forum? If I can't figure it out here I have no choice other than taking it into a shop next week. Or doing a complete clean reinstall of everything which I don't want to do.

I Assume you are using XP, have you tried start/search/all files or and folders, than use when modidified or what size. You can search for hidden files from there also.

Why not take the simple approach??

Search for *.tmp *.vob *.iso and *.img files and see where they all are.

Searching for "when modified" or size can be very misleading.. attack the file types.

You were right. I did a search and a copies were being saved to my backup. When I deleted them I restored 124 Gig's. Can you believe that.

Thanks for hanging in there with me. I owe you a cup of coffee.

I just figured out how to burn DVD's properly about 4 weeks ago with the help from this forum. My burns are excellent to say the least.

You asked what I'm burning? When I'm not traveling around the world I play music, guitar specifically. I have friends that are professional musicians and we all trade material for enhancing our ability to play better. I have done a few movies but not many. I entend to do more.

The last time I download from the net was about a year ago. I get a little nervous about getting a virus etc. I've been fortunate so far.

I appriciate the help. Hopefully some one will touch on a subject I can be of help.

    Once again Thanks.

    Sincerely,

    PanamJ

I think I need more help..I have burned a bunch of DVD's. Up until yesterday DVDfab was working very fast. Then it started copying very slow. Why would it do that? I went as far as reinstalling it, but it installed the 5.0.2.0...What do you think?

the5020 is what I was using and it worked fine then bingo it slowed down. I uninstanned it and installed the 5022 and it's opperating at the same slower speed. It's not a big problem. My burn qualities are excellent.

I do have another question. Do you even jump for DVDFab straight to burning and skip DVD Shrink?

I did it by mistake. It's still burning so I don't know if it effected the quality.
