When I want to encode a .avi file into a MPEG-2 with TmpgEnc I get no sound in the encoded video. To solve this problem I want to use VirtualDub to get the original sound from the original video. This file has to be converted into mp2. My question is now how to do this? Can anybody help me?
No, I had the same problem i think. Try to go to the options tab in tmpgenc en evorintel setting or something like that. en the vfapi-plugin en the make directshow plugin the biggest. This will do.
open the avi files in virtualdub and do the following 1. click video - direct stream copy 2. click audio - full processing mode 3. click audio - compression, select No Compression PCM and click ok! 4. click file - save avi! Now with the avi saved, try it with Tmpgenc!
i have the same problem. i followed the steps you gave, but when i go to save the avi file, the message "no audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format." any ideas on what to do? thanks
i used gspot and it said AC3 codec and i downloaded it, but the same error message came up. im stumped on this one.
hmm with ac3 you would be better off using DVD2SVCD because ac3 is not supported by VirtualDUB (but is by VirtualDUBMOD) and its not supported by TMPGEnc. DVD2SVCD is a frontend which means that it will automate the encoding process so that BeSweet will encode the audio, TMPGEnc will encode the video and bbmpeg will multiplex the files. Also then VCDImager or VCDXBuild will build bin/cue images!
thanks for the advice, dela, but the problem was that virtualdub extracted the avi audio to non-pcm wave format, and only pcm wave is supported by tmpgenc. i used goldwave to extract the audio and it worked fine. the problem now is that the new MPEG file plays fine on my computer, but there is no sound when i play it on my dvd player after burning it onto a vcd. the instructions say that it plays vcd's, so i don't know what to do. i used nero to burn it if that matters. any ideas?
