OK, I have read through nearly all 12 pages of replys on this forum, and read through other forums. this by far is the best... I am haveing issues with updating my MPT to a higher version than 3.11h, I go to www.BVRP.com and talk to tech support and they are telling me that I need my Motorola CD, and a number off of it. Well needless to say I do not have that. When I try to update I get an error message of "Unable to Decompress a file, An internal Error has occured, Please contact Technical support" I have noticed that there are several links on the forums to D/L things, but most of them are not working. I have noticed that a few of you are very knowledgable about the MPT, and if anyone could lend me a hand I would appreciate it very much. Also, I seen you can D/L games to the phone.... Cool..that may be the next adventure..
This is exactly what happened to us, and Forget MOTOROLA THEY ARE RETARDS, calling customer service is a JOKE (the guy I talked to just read from a script)...If you are using a cd with MPT 3 on it they have a severe corruption problem on the DISC itself( but no-one will admit to) but it is a problem Here is what we did We downloaded the first version , I think it was 1.23, then downloaded the 2.16 update and then updated on live update to 3.11...Then rebooted and did live update again to get the newest updates(NEVER PLUG IN THE PHONE UNTIL ALL UPDATES ARE INSTALLED AND REBOOTED) this thread has the software needed and some GREAT INFO http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/172799 this is entirely way to much messing around when a customer BUYS THE DAMN SOFTWARE TO START WITH Now get this Motorla FEDEXED me a new copy of MPT 3 In a box that I could have shipped a small dog in, guess what it doesn't work either WHAT A BUNCH OF MORONS to send the exact same copy out when they should be sending out the newer stuff ....But none of us can get the new MPT to transfer mp3 ringtones without corrupting them Oh you would have to UN-INSTALL everything(MPT from previous installs) before installing the above programs as stated(you have to get rid of any trace of your corrupt installation) also you have to check under device manager and make sure you have uninstalled the Motorola USB modem or anything other then your real phone modem if you have one in your pc(sometimes uninstalling does not remove everything, you will have to reboot to check after uninstalling) BUT do not count on this software to work correctly, it is a JOKE to put this CRAP out to the public We had a couple of computers that we had to re-install 3 times to get it to work(and then it only works particially(no Mp3 transfers)also we have noticed with the MPT's installed the P2K does not work correctly, which means a conflict is happening but we just haven't figured out what is the conflict yet....Without MPT the P2K Works Good luck
