Has anyone heard of problems backing up Lost DVDs? Was attempting to back up these DVDs and every one of them are unplayable in my computer. Note, this is the first time this has happened (not playing on my computer) and I have been backing up for well over a year now. However, every backup of every Lost disk can not be played on the computer, can not be played on my expensive several years old DVD player (no big surprise there as none of my backups ever played on that machine), and these Lost backups can ONLY be played on my cheapo Cyberhome DVD player. On computer, I get the message "DVD Volume is invalid". I only get this message on Lost backups, and even anydvd freezes up on these backups. I was attempting to look at the information window using anydvd to see if that would give me any clues, but the fox turns light, and never changes back. Computer does not recogonize the backups. Think this is a new kind of copy protection? I use Anydvd and clonedvd2 and have been for over a year with no problems until now. Using same Ritek ridata disks for all of this time, no problems. Would not think Slysoft would not know of a new copy protection scheme and ignore it however.
i didnt have any problems. i used dvdd and dvd shrink. i made full backups including the extras. sounds like a media problem to me
Well, thanks for the tip, however, the history does not back this up. Over a year of using the same backup program, ripper, media with NO problems playing on my computer or cyberhome DVD player and ONLY problems with Lost DVD backups.............just does not add up to media problems. I would agree with you is it were one or two burns, but Ridata has proven themselves to me to be reliable media.
