Ask whoever put the password in, to give it to you.

if its you login password and you know a bit about computers you might be able to find a program using google that can get and read your SAM file.
The SAM file is a file in you windows/system32 folder that stores you passwords, its not a .txt file and has to be read with special programs.

im not 100% sure on this

Use this Boot CD. It'll work as long as your password doesn't include any special characters.
    http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/
You also get CDs that erase your password. You could also use a Live CD and delete your SAM file though I don't know if that will work.

I think that deadeye forgot he posted in the AD forums. Looks like he is the typical "hit and run" poster, and he found his answer in another forum and didn't bother coming back here to let folks know he found a solution, elsewhere.

But then again, I could be wrong. :)

anyone else have this poblem try this
Modify your PC's BIOS so that it will boot from the Windows CD-ROM. Insert the Windows CD into the drive and boot up the PC. Watch the screen messages until you see the prompt: "Press any key to boot from CD."
Go through the boot-up process until you get to the "Setup" screen where you have the option to install or repair. Choose the option to repair and press "R" which will launch the repair process. As the repair runs, Windows Set up will do a check on your disks and then begin to copy files. This may take a few minutes. Your PC will then re-boot itself automatically.
Step3Open a command prompt after your PC reboots and resumes set-up. Here's how:

    * In Windows 2000, wait until the point where it's registering components, and then pres the "Shift + F10" keys.

    * In Windows XP, watch the bottom left-hand side of your screen until you see a progress bar that reads: "Installing devices," and then press the "Shift + F10." This will open a command consol You can now gain access to your Control panel. Here's how:

    * In Windows 2000, enter this command: control.exe

    * In Windows XP, type: nusrmgr.cpl

    * Press "Enter," and you will have access to the control panel.

Use the tools provided to reset your passwords. When you are done, close the control panel and then type in "Exit" to close your command console. Allow the repair to complete as usual. You will then be able to log on using your new password.

    @ culpeck
Great fix for those that find the UBCD does'nt work *thumbs up*

For those of you that have branded computers & no install cd you can still do the repair by using your recovery options as the repair function is there, your looking for the repair option with the blue GUI not the black DOS screen (DOS screen is usually the first repair option given & is on the first set of options screen),pretty much the same as you would see if using the cd
